Here’s an excellent concept series calling itself ”Back to the Future “ by the youngphotographer Irina Werningbased in Buenos Aires. The concept takes photographs from back in the past and recreates them its a great way to show the evolution of an individual but the static personality that within them staying true.
I try and take my work to the edge of something because that’s where the interesting things happen.

Origami is a metaphoric art form… You have one piece of paper. You don’t add to it. You don’t subtract from it. You change it.

The process of making is the point of it. The object looks good if the process felt good.

I’m heading out on Paternity Leave for six weeks, starting within the next day or two. When I arrived at work today, the office showed me how they’ve prepared for my departure—-searching Youtube to find an exact replica of my laugh. I’m sad to say…they’ve nailed it!
*P.S. This blog will be less frequently updated over the next six weeks while I’m away on leave. My apologies in advance for the lack of first lines, theses, and other randomness that is tossed up here. On the upside, a baby photo or two may sneak its way in :-)

A bad picture of our amazing communications assistant, Rebecca. One day I’ll photograph her with something more than an iPhone, but in the meantime, check out the shirt she wore to work the other day. It’s just a hint of what makes her a really interesting person. Oh, and she has one of my favorite Plans— “Finding Focus: Astronomical Questions”
Hired.

We found this in one of the Barn bathrooms the other day… and had to laugh.

everyone interesting.
Sometimes people ask me what it’s like to work at Bennington. I often talk about the students, the campus, the pedagogy, the culture— but I don’t say nearly enough about the people on staff.
It’s as if this place is a magnet for interesting people. Take the CFO, Laura Krause, for example. On Wednesday, at 7 pm, in Tishman, she’s going to talk about her experience donating organs. Yeah, that’s right, organs. She’s donated a kidney and liver to complete strangers.
If I haven’t already gone into labor, I’m going to have to check this talk out. <—- I find myself saying that a lot these days.
